Gysenberg Park
The Gysenbergpark is an amusement park in Herne . It was founded in 1970 as Revierpark Gysenberg and was the first park of its kind in the Ruhr area . The operator is Revierpark Gysenberg Herne GmbH, whose shareholders are in equal parts the city of Herne and the Ruhr Regional Association . The park covers an area of 31 hectares.
location
The Revierpark is located in the south of Herne in the district of Sodingen. It extends below the Gysenberg in front of its northern slope. The park's lawns extend to the Gysenberg Forest. Before 1970 the area was used for agriculture. The main route, which runs in an east-west direction, lies on the route of the former connecting line between the Mont Cenis and Constantin 4/5/11 collieries .
Leisure activities
The leisure facilities of the park include the Lago leisure pool , an event building, the leisure center , a sports hall, a multifunctional event and ice rink and the Pfiffikus children's playhouse . In the open-air area, in addition to the large lawns, there is a go- kart track , a mini golf course , a climbing facility with a ten-meter high tower and boulder wall, a petting zoo, a children's train, ponds for rowing boats and a network of walking trails. In addition to outdoor sports facilities, including a beach volleyball facility, there is an indoor sports center.
Leisure pool Lago
The Lago leisure pool is a sol, wave and outdoor pool with an extensive sauna area. A wide variety of infusions are offered in the lake's sauna area. So there are z. B. a celebrated infusion that lasts over 15 minutes, a salt infusion and ice infusions in which fruit or water ice are offered. The Lago is located in the eastern part of the park, the sunbathing lawns of the outdoor swimming pool area extend into the Ruhmbach valley.
Ice rink
The ice rink is located in the western part of the Revierpark. It is used both for ice skating as an individual leisure activity, as well as for club-based ice sports and figure skating. The ice hockey club of the Herner Eissportverein uses the hall for training and home games. There are special offers for schools, clubs, kindergartens and youth centers.
Jolante Children's Railway
The Jolante children's railway , a park railway with a track length of around 300 meters , runs in the park . The addressed user group is mainly children, accompanying adults can ride along. The operation takes place all year round.
An electric locomotive with the exterior design of a steam locomotive serves as the tractor. Usually three cars are attached to the locomotive. The track width is 600 mm.
The train runs along the zoo at the historic mill ponds in the Ostbachtal . It was established in 1970 with the creation of the Revierpark.
Animal park
The zoo is located in the Ostbach valley under the wooded slope of the Gysenberg. The buildings are laid out in the style of a farm. Central European breeds of domestic animals are kept. There is a petting zoo in the center of the facility . The history of the zoo goes back to 1934.
