Héctor Caraccioli Moncada (* 1922 ; † 1975 ) was from October 21, 1956 to December 21, 1957 member of a military junta that served as head of state in Honduras .

Life

Héctor Caraccioli Moncada was the pilot of the Fuerza Aérea Hondureña . His Boeing Model 40 crashed on January 25, 1945, and Caraccioli was the first Honduran Air Force pilot to disembark with an emergency parachute. He replaced Hernán Acosta Mejía as commander of the Fuerza Aérea Hondureña and was replaced by Armando Escalón Espinal as the commander of the Fuerza Aérea Hondureña .

An air force base near La Ceiba , which opened on October 25, 1978, is named after Hector Caraccioli Moncada . Northrop F-5s are stationed on this and International Military Education and Training (IMET) also takes place there.
