Hélia Rogério de Souza ( "Fofão" , born March 10, 1970 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian volleyball player .

Fofão took part with the Brazilian national team five times in the Olympic Games between 1992 and 2008 , each time reaching at least the semi-finals, winning the gold medal in Beijing in 2008 and the bronze medal in 1996 and 2000 . She also won the Pan American Games in 1999 and was runner-up in the world twice ( 1994 and 2006 ). There are also numerous victories at the Volleyball World Grand Prix .

During her long career, the setter played for numerous top clubs around the world. In addition to many national championships and cup wins, Fofão had other highlights with Despar Sirio Perugia (victories in the European Champions League in 2006 as well as in the CEV Cup in 2005 and 2007 ) and with Fenerbahçe Istanbul ( club world champion 2010).

Fofão has received numerous individual awards at various national and international competitions (“Most Valuable Player” ( MVP ), “Best Setter”).
