Rio de Janeiro Vôlei Clube is a Brazilian volleyball club from Rio de Janeiro , whose women's team plays in the top Brazilian league. The club was founded in 1997 as Paraná Vôlei Clube and moved to Rio in 2002. He also appeared under the sponsorship names Rexona-Ades , Unilever Vôlei and today under Sesc-RJ Vôlei .
Rio de Janeiro VC is one of the most successful clubs in Brazilian volleyball and has been champion ten times (1998, 2000, 2001, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2014) and 2007 cup winners. Well-known players like Erna Brinkman , Fabiana Claudino , Jaqueline Carvalho , Sheilla Castro , Walewska Oliveira , Fernanda Ferreira , Danielle Lins , Thaísa Menezes , Hélia Souza , Wélissa Gonzaga , Fabiana Oliveira , Natália Pereira , Leila Barros , Francesca Piccinini , Marianne Steinbrecher and Logan Tomorrow play or played for Rio de Janeiro VC.
Since 2016 there has also been a men's team that plays in the Brazilian Super League.
