Fabiana Alvim de Oliveira (born March 7, 1980 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian volleyball player . She won the gold medal at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.

Career

Oliveira started her career in 1993 in her hometown near Flamengo Rio de Janeiro . In 1998/99 she played one season with CD Macaé before returning to Flamengo. After a year at CR Vasco da Gama , she moved to ACF / Campos in 2001 . In 2002, the Libera made their debut in the Brazilian national team . The Brazilians won the 2003 and 2005 South American Championship and also the Grand Prix 2005 . After these successes, Oliveira came to Rio de Janeiro VC. With the new club, she won the national championship four times in a row from 2006 to 2009. Internationally, she defended the Grand Prix in 2006 and reached the final of the World Cup . In 2007, in addition to the renewed title in the continental championship, two second places followed at the Pan American Games and the World Cup . In 2008 Oliveira took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing after the next Grand Prix victory ; there she received not only the gold medal but also an award for best Libera. Brazil became South American champions again in 2009. In the following year, the national team reached the final in the Grand Prix and the World Cup . In 2011 Oliveira became Brazilian champions with the club. With Brazil, she again missed the final victory at the Grand Prix , but won again the continental title and the tournament of the Pan American Games . 2012 saw the third place in the Grand Prix . Oliveira then took part in the Olympic Games in London for the second time and won her second gold medal.
