The 2005 season of the Volleyball World Grand Prix was the 13th edition of the competition. It started on June 24th and ended on July 18th. Brazil won the title for the fifth time.

In the preliminary round, twelve teams competed. In the first three weeks three tournaments with four teams took place in parallel. The five best teams in the overall standings qualified for the final round alongside hosts Japan.
