Andrea Berg (born January 24, 1981 in Nordhorn ; now Andrea Büring ) is a former German volleyball player .

Career

Andrea Berg started playing volleyball when she was seven. After several years at SCU Emlichheim she moved in 2002 to the Bundesliga USC Munster . There she celebrated successes such as the German championship titles in 2004 and 2005 as well as the DVV cup victories, also won in 2004 and 2005 . For the German national team , the middle blocker played 26 international matches between 2001 and 2006 and won the bronze medal at the 2003 European Championship in Ankara .

In August 2008 Andrea Berg suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament in the pre-season season . After a successful knee operation, she dropped out as a player and captain of USC Münster for the entire 2008/09 season . On March 13, 2010 Andrea Berg celebrated a successful comeback in the Bundesliga with the 3-2 win of USC Münster at Alemannia Aachen . In 2013 Andrea Berg ended her volleyball career after eleven years at USC Münster.

Andrea Berg works as an insurance saleswoman and has been married to her former volleyball trainer Axel Büring since 2017 , with whom she also has a daughter since 2016.
