Kathy Radzuweit (born March 2, 1982 in Berlin , nickname: "Ratze") is a former German national volleyball player .
Career
Even as a teenager, the 1.96 meter tall Radzuweit played high class early on. She attacked for VC Olympia Berlin in the 2nd Bundesliga North. As a high school graduate, she played with the VC Olympia in the 1st Bundesliga. She later played for league rivals Volley Cats Berlin and Bayer 04 Leverkusen .
In 2001, Radzuweit gained his first international experience in the national team at the Grand Prix. Her change from the diagonal to the middle blocker position had a positive effect. At the EM 2003 in Turkey she was the best block player of the tournament.
She became known to a broader public less because of her athletic achievements and more because of erotic photo shoots. In 2002 she posed for Max magazine . The FAZ recognized "an immense public interest" and described her ambiguously as a "popular bench press". The world judged: " Everyone who has seen the pictures will confirm that the 20-year-old middle blocker can survive with Anni Friesinger , Sina Schielke , Katja Poensgen and other industry beauties: long legs, athletic stature, curly hair, beautiful eyes. "
After the disappointing departure of the German team at the home World Cup in 2002, she was indirectly accused of being a model. "During that time I heard voices whispering behind my back that I should do something else," said Radzuweit, looking back over the hostility.
Nevertheless, they settled for the book published in September 2004 Olympic special of the Playboy photographed naked. Fanny Rinne (hockey) and Britta Heidemann (epee fencing) also posed for the special .
In 2007 Radzuweit left Bayer Leverkusen and moved to the Italian first division club Minetti Infoplus Vicenza . After another year in Italy with Pallavolo Donoratico , she returned to Germany in 2009 and played in the Bundesliga with VT Aurubis Hamburg until 2011 .
At the 2010 World Cup in Japan , she reached a good seventh place with the national team .
From 2011 to 2012, Kathy Radzuweit played in Azerbaijan with Rabita Baku , where she won the Club World Cup straight away and was the Azerbaijani champion and cup winner in 2012. She then moved back to the Bundesliga for SC Potsdam , where she ended her volleyball career in 2015.
Private
After graduating from the Coubertin-Gymnasium in Berlin, she did an apprenticeship as an office clerk. She is currently a student.
Her mother Elke was a national volleyball player. In 1978 she took part in the World Championships in Leningrad with the GDR. Her father was a Cuban international.
