Pallavolo Sirio Perugia was an Italian women's volleyball club from Perugia ( Umbria region ), which played in the Italian Serie A.
history
Pallavolo Sirio Perugia was founded in 1970 and has played in the top Italian division "Serie A1" since 1996. The women always played in the top group and were Italian champions in 2003, 2005 and 2007. There were also five Italian cup wins (1992, 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007). Pallavolo Sirio Perugia was also a top team in Europe. They won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2000 , the CEV Cup in 2005 and 2007 and were Champions League winners in 2006 and 2008. In the last few years the team competed under the sponsor names “Colussi Sirio Perugia” and “Despar Sirio Perugia”. In 2011 the association was dissolved due to financial difficulties.
