Taismary "Tai" Aguero Leiva (born March 5, 1977 in Yaguajay ) is a Cuban - Italian volleyball player .

Career

Agüero won gold medals twice with the Cuban national team at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and 2000 in Sydney . Added to this are gold at the 1998 World Cup and victories at the World Grand Prix and the World Cup . From 2007 to 2009 she played in the Italian national team , with which she was twice European champion. She also won the 2007 World Cup and finished fifth at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing .

From 1998 to 2007 Agüero played in the Italian "Serie A1", first with Pallavolo Sirio Perugia (multiple Italian champion and cup winner and 2000 cup winner ) and since 2005 with Asystel Volley Novara (2006 winner of the European Top Team Cup ). From 2007 to 2009 Agüero was active in Turkey at Türk Telekom Ankara , but then returned to Italy. With MC-Carnaghi Villa Cortese she won the Italian Cup twice. She then played for LJ Volley Modena , Pomì Casalmaggiore and Volley Forlì .

Agüero has been honored several times as “Most Valuable Player” ( MVP ), “Best Setter”, “Best Diagonal Player” , “Best Point Collector” etc.
