Hôtel de Franquemont
The Hôtel de Franquemont in Montbéliard , a town in the Doubs department in the French region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté , is a 16th-century Hôtel particulier located at 42 Rue de Belfort. The building has been protected as an architectural monument ( Monument historique ) since 1989 .
history
The Hôtel de Franquemont takes its name from the Franquemont family who owned the Seigneurie de Franquemont. It had owned the previous building since 1397 and had the new building built in 1559. After 1580 the city palace was temporarily owned by the Gueldrich, von Sponeck , von Forstner and Villars families .
