history

The company was founded in 1954 by Johann Hödlmayr on his parents' farm in Schwertberg . The core business initially comprised cattle and ballast transport . In 1961, the company entered the vehicle transport business.

Despite the first oil crisis , the company expanded in 1974 and began shipping new vehicles to the Middle East . In 1980 Hödlmayr expanded its range of activities to include services and activities in the area of pre-delivery services. The first step towards internationalization took place in 1984 with the purchase of the German freight forwarder Schmid in Rosenheim .

In 1988 Johannes Hödlmayr became the third managing director alongside Johann and Helga Hödlmayr. The Hödlmayr Group founded its first Eastern European subsidiary in Gyál (Budapest, Hungary) in 1990, today the company headquarters are in Győr.

In 1991 Hödlmayr took on the task of releasing agent (handling forwarder) at the Eurostar plant in Graz for the first time. Between 1993 and 2001, further subsidiaries were founded (mainly in Central and Eastern Europe) and activities as a releasing agent and in the pre-delivery service area were intensified. Between 2002 and 2008 the focus was mainly on the strategic direction in the markets of Southeast and Eastern Europe. Further company foundings and the first vehicle transports to Ukraine and Russia followed. Between 2009 and 2011, both a location in Ukraine and a branch in Turkey were opened.

On November 18, 2011, with the death of the company's founder, Johann Hödlmayr, an era came to an end. The joint venture TS Iberia (Valencia, Spain) was wound up in 2014 and a vehicle warehouse in Wiener Neustadt was taken over - this was subsequently expanded into a logistics compound. The opening of the youngest location in Bulgaria followed in 2015. Hödlmayr opened the International Releasing Agent at BMW Leipzig at the beginning of 2016 and has 100 employees there.
