Hödur
In Nordic mythology , the blind Hödur , also Höd , old Norse Höðr "fighter", is considered to be Balder's brother and thus Odin's son .
After Balder had dreamed of his death, his mother Frigg took an oath from every animal, plant and object not to kill her son. Only the mistletoe did not have to take an oath because it seemed so inconspicuous to her. The gods then had fun throwing all kinds of objects at Balder, but everything kept to the oath. Loki instigated the blind Hödur to throw at Balder as well and handed him a sprig of mistletoe. Hit by this Balder sank dead on the ground, whereupon his just born half-brother Wali took revenge on Hödur. Following the Ragnarök , Balder and Hödur return from the realm of the dead Hel and move into Valhalla as their home in the new world .
