Höfen (colloquially five courtyards ) is a district of the municipality of Warthausen in the district of Biberach in Upper Swabia .

description

The hamlets of Barabein, Galmutshöfen, Herrlishöfen, Rißhöfen and the Rappenhof farm belong to the farms. The district is located north of Biberach, on the terraces east of the Riss . Until a bypass was built in 1983, Bundesstraße 30 ran through the districts of Barabein and Herrlishöfen.

Austrian fiefs can be identified in the five courtyards since the middle of the 15th century . The Habsburgs pledged the rights to the Truchsessen from Waldburg-Wolfegg -Waldsee. In the years 1459 to 1460 the goods were sold to the Hospital of the Holy Spirit in Biberach . The five courtyards were now part of the territory of the imperial city of Biberach, from 1803 the Electorate of Baden and 1806 the Kingdom of Württemberg . In World War I saw seven courtyards fallen or missing persons and in the Second World War twenty people.

Until 1950, the power supply for courtyards was provided by the Straub art mill . Since 1912 Höfen and Oberhöfen were members of the water supply association Rißgruppe, which was dissolved on December 31, 1983.

On May 1, 1974, Höfen was incorporated into Warthausen.
