Högdalen is an above-ground station on the Stockholm Metro . It is located in the Högdalen district of the same name . The station is served by the Gröna linjen of the Stockholm subway system . The station belongs to the medium-frequented station of the underground network. On a normal winter working day, 7,900 commuters get on here.
The station was opened on November 22, 1954, when the section of the Gröna linjen between Stureby and Högdalen was put into operation. It was also the terminus of the T18 line until November 14, 1959, from then on the trains drove over the newly built section to Rågsved station. The current station was inaugurated on November 3, 1957. The station is located between the Rågsved and Bandhagen stations . The platforms are above ground in an elevated position. It is about eight kilometers to Stockholm Central Station .
Högdalen depot
The station has two middle platforms and three tracks, of which the middle one can be reached from both platforms. It is used to thread the subway cars in and out to and from the Högdalen car depot. It has been decided to extend the blue line from Kungsträdgården to Södermalm and then in two branches to Nacka and Gullmarsplan. The second branch should then take over the route to Hagsätra from the Sockenplan stop. The Högdalen depot would then no longer be part of the green line. A second connection from the depot to the east to the Farsta branch of the green line is therefore planned.
