The Höhere Agricultural and Forestry Schools ( HLFS ) are some schools for agricultural professions in the education system in Austria , which are directly subordinate to the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry .

History and position in the education system

The distinction between these schools is historical, they are not administered by the state or city ​​school council , but by the responsible ministry. Due to this special status, the schools are run under the group of central teaching institutions  (ZLA). They are regulated in the Federal Schools Act for Agriculture and Forestry , Federal Law Gazette No. 175/1966.

The agricultural professions are also regulated by a separate law, the agricultural and forestry vocational training law .
