Höllberghof
The Höllberghof is located in the Niederlausitzer Landrücke Nature Park and is a well-known excursion destination near Luckau north of Wüstermarke ( Heideblick municipality ). The farm is a fully functional farm made of wood, clay, reed, stone and straw, recreated in 1991 based on a 200-year-old model . The rural Dreiseithof serves on the one hand to maintain rural customs, but on the other hand also as a research and environmental education center.
On a 2,500 meter long circular path, visitors can see old breeds of domestic animals living in an animal enclosure, including Skudden , a frugal breed of sheep, or the grazing pig . Bred to be saved from extinction, these farm animals are also used to maintain the landscape.
The annual Höllberg festivals in spring and the harvest festivals in autumn are among the cultural highlights of the region and are characterized by the maintenance of traditional craftsmanship. The bread is baked in a conventional bakery and old crafts such as spinning, felting, threshing and buttering, as well as typical regional dishes in the Höllbergschänke, are presented in traditional costumes from the 19th century. Changing exhibitions, seminars, panel discussions and excursions provide information about the history of land use. As a practical demonstration, the Friends of the Nature Park in the neighboring Höllenberge practice three-field farming as it was practiced around 1800, when the biodiversity of the landscape was greatest.
In the near and far surroundings of the farm, from the Höllenberge to Calau Switzerland , south of the village of the same name, there are many designated hiking trails, as they are also intended for the rest of the nature park of the Niederlausitzer Landrücke.
