The Höllenberg is a 69.5 meter high elevation near Saalow , a district of the municipal Am Mellensee in the Teltow-Fläming district in the state of Brandenburg .
The elevation is located east of the district and can be accessed from an eight-kilometer hiking trail that begins on the village green at the Saalow barn windmill . Theodor Fontane mentioned the mountain in his hikes through the Margraviate of Brandenburg , as they bear the “grotesque name of the mountains of Hell”, but at the same time contributed to the “poetry of the place”.
