The Höllensteinhaus in the municipality of the market town of Kaltenleutgabe is a refuge for Austrian nature lovers on the summit of the 645 m high Höllenstein in the Vienna Woods and was built directly on the east side of the Julienturm, which opened in 1880.

history

At the beginning of the 20th century, the Mödlinger “Verein der Naturfreunde”, which was founded in 1877 and which also owned the Julienturm, built a small extension to the east of it. After the First World War, the tower and annex came into the possession of the "Tourist Association Die Naturfreunde", founded in 1895. In 1924 the small extension was torn down and the new Höllensteinhaus was built.
The Höllensteinhaus burned down twice in June 2007 - on the 23rd partially and in the night on the 26th to the ground. The house was repaired again and after more than two years the ceremonial reopening took place on September 20, 2009.

Julienturm

The Julienturm is a brick observation tower and was built around 1880 by the Mödlinger “Verein der Naturfreunde”, founded on May 6, 1877. It is named after Julie Regenhart von Zápory, the wife of Franz Ritter Regenhart von Zápory, who donated around half of the construction costs. In 1896 the tower was rebuilt and raised by around 4 meters.
