Wassergspreng is a group of ten houses in the Lower Austrian market town of Hinterbrühl .

Until 1954 it belonged to Kaltenleutzüge under Greater Vienna . Kaltenleutgabe can only be reached by long detours on the road. Wassergspreng became part of the then independent community of Weissenbach and has been part of Hinterbrühl since it was incorporated .

Today it is a popular hiking area in the Föhrenberge Nature Park and near the Sparbach Nature Park and is also part of the Natura2000 area. The forest areas mainly belong to the Austrian Federal Forests and the Liechtenstein Gutsverwaltung . At the foot of the Höllenstein are the sources of the aqueduct that supplies Weissenbach with water.

Since 1953 there has been a scout camp for Austrian scouts , the Bundeszentrum Wassergspreng . It is located in an old mill on the Weissenbach, with a hostel and a large campsite.

Individual finds that are 6000 years old prove that Wassergspreng has been inhabited for a very long time.
