The guard tower in Hammelburg , a small town in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen , was built between 1242 and 1260. The defense tower is a protected monument .

The three-storey tower with a square floor plan, consisting of masonry or quarry stone masonry , is one of three still preserved towers of the Hammelburg city fortifications . The mansard roof was added in 1801.

The upper floors were built in half-timbered construction.

The tower serves as the club headquarters of the boy scouts .
