Trump Hüttinger

The TRUMPF Hüttinger GmbH + Co. KG is a German company in the field of DC -, medium frequency and high-frequency generators for plasma excitation , induction heating and CO 2 - laser excitation . The bidirectional inverters from TRUMPF Hüttinger are specially designed for the efficient operation of redox flow batteries and lithium-ion batteries and are part of the new product portfolio. The headquarters are in Freiburg im Breisgau .

history

On January 1, 1922, the electrical engineer Fritz Hüttinger founded his company of the same name in Freiburg, which was used to manufacture electrical equipment. In 1925, together with his wife, he expanded the company into a factory for electromedical devices, in which the first diathermy and surgical devices were manufactured in series in 1926 . In 1936 the first "Hüttinger high vacuum amplifier tubes" were developed and manufactured. In 1940 the company was moved to Elsässer Straße due to the expansion and the associated new building. On November 27, 1944, the company complex was destroyed by an area bombing by the Royal Air Force (RAF) .

The reconstruction could be completed in a short time and the production of clothes buttons made of Bakelite ( thermosetting plastic ) and electric heating stoves began. At the end of the 1940s, the high-frequency (HF) and medium-frequency (MF) generators for inductive and capacitive applications were expanded, followed by the introduction of HF power supplies for semiconductor manufacturing in the 1960s and the start of production of HF generators for laser application in the 1980s.

In 1990 the company TRUMPF Maschinenfabrik in Ditzingen acquired shares and in 1994 became the majority shareholder. The previous medical technology division was renamed TRUMPF Medizin Systeme GmbH + Co. KG after the merger and moved to Umkirch . The medical technology division was sold in 2004 and still operates under the name of KLS Martin GmbH + Co. KG. In 2006, the company's employees moved into the new building on Bötzinger Straße, Freiburg. In 2007 the Polish company Advanced Converters was taken over and integrated into the overall company as a subsidiary, HÜTTINGER Electronic Sp. Z oo. The subsidiary develops process power supplies in the DC area. The company formerly known as HÜTTINGER Elektronik has been known as TRUMPF Hüttinger since July 1, 2013.

Products

The product range includes DC, medium frequency and high frequency generators. These are used in applications and processes in the areas of plasma excitation, induction heating and CO 2 laser excitation. The fields of application of the plasma generators are large-scale coatings of glass and foils, material application and removal in the manufacture of semiconductors , solar cells and storage media , processes for the surface treatment of flat screen substrates and the pretreatment of plastics. Areas of application for inductive heating include: a. Epitaxy ( Czochralski process ), zone drawing, welding, hardening, soldering, annealing, etc. of z. E.g. automotive parts or turbine blades as well as the sealing of bottles, cans and tubes. With the bi-directional battery inverter TruConvert from TRUMPF Hüttinger, you can optimize the efficiency and profitability of your redox flow battery storage system. The power supplies for laser excitation are made for the CO 2 laser area. This is done exclusively for the majority shareholder.
