The Hützen & Partner publishing house is a Swiss book publisher specializing in hiking guides, cycling guides and travel literature . In March 2018, the publisher was awarded the ITB BuchAward in the category “Best Tour Guide Bicycle 2018”.

history

The publishing house was founded in 2008 by the Germans Hans Roderich (called Rod) and Kathrin Hützen in St. Gallen . Areas of activity were publishing products for own projects and the creation of publications for external companies, printing, digital applications ( eBooks , apps and web design ) and consulting. With the company's move to Salenstein in the canton of Thurgau in December 2017, the publisher is now exclusively devoting itself to the publication of travel books with the aim of gradually expanding the publishing portfolio.

Hützen & Partner is a member of the German Book Trade Association and the Swiss Booksellers and Publishers Association .

Publishing program

The Hützen & Partner program includes:

The main series of the publisher are the Pero Negro Editions, hiking and cycling guides in a compact format with ring binding. The series consists of pilgrim guides and hiking guides, primarily for the Camino de Santiago in Spain and Portugal, as well as cycling guides in the fields of extreme sports , recreational sports and trekking .

Design of the books

Hiking and cycling guides are produced in handy formats with a special ring binding on climate-neutral paper, tailored to the target group.

Travel books are produced in a special travel book format with rounded corners, hardcover , yellowish paper, insert pockets and elastic band, a trademark of the publisher. The distinguishing mark and corporate identity are the colors purple and black.
