The H-40 is a 12 meter sailing yacht from the pen of the Finnish designer Hans Groop . It has been built by the Swedish shipyard Utklippan Yachts since 2011 . The design of the H-40 is based on Groops Artekno H-35 : like the H-35 at the time, the H-40 is a compromise between the classic lines of an archipelago cruiser and the comfort of a modern leisure yacht. The class symbol should indicate the relationship to earlier Groop boats: It consists of the symbol of Groops H-Boot with an added 40. The new price with sails is estimated at 1,895,000 Swedish kronor (approx. 215,000 €).
history
The idea for the H-40 came from the Swedish H-35 sailors Bengt Callmer, Henry Evers and Goran Ax. They also funded the first two prototypes built in 2008. The aim was to build a contemporary, modernized version of the H-35. The modernizations were primarily aimed at the increased need for comfort. The H-40 received more living space, two additional berths, 1.90 meters headroom, a shower cubicle and a bathing platform. The shipyard plans to produce 5-7 copies a year.
