HFG strong

Hermann Franz Gerhard Starke (often also HFG Starke ) (born August 16, 1916 in Berbersdorf ; † May 24, 1996 in Berlin ) was a German journalist .

Strong received his doctorate in 1939 in Leipzig for Dr. phil. From 1949 he headed the political department in the Hamburg broadcasting house of the NDR . On August 22, 1961, Starke (at that time head of the main politics department of the NDR) became director of Deutschlandfunk and remained that way until 1966. He then became editor-in-chief of the newspaper Die Welt .
