HD 188015 is a yellow sub-giant in the constellation Fox, 171.58 light-years from Earth . It has an apparent magnitude of 8.22 mag, so it is not visible to the naked eye. Its mass roughly corresponds to that of the sun, but it is significantly older, has probably already completed the fusion of hydrogen and now draws its energy from the fusion of helium nuclei . HD 188015 is about twice as metallic as the sun. In 2005, Geoffrey Marcy discovered an extrasolar planet orbiting this star. It bears the name HD 188015 b .
