HSG Schülp / Westerrönfeld

The HSG Schülp / Westerrönfeld was a handball community from the communities of Schülp b. Rendsburg and Westerrönfeld in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein . She gained fame above all through her first men's team, which belonged to the Northeast Regional Handball League for a year , took part in the DHB Cup several times and played in the fourth-class handball league Hamburg - Schleswig-Holstein .

The syndicate was founded for the 1989/90 season by Schülper SV and Westerrönfelder SV. In the first year of its existence, the men's team was promoted to the fourth-class Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein, where they played until relegation in 1996. After eight years in the District League East, she succeeded in 2004, the renewed promotion to the top division of the HVSH . Already in the second season the Rendsburg champions were there and were promoted to the handball regional league Northeast , in which they could only stay for a year. In 2010 they qualified for the new Oberliga Hamburg - Schleswig-Holstein and immediately won the runner-up. In 1999/2000, 2001/02 and 2009/10 the team took part in the DHB Cup . While she failed in the first round in 1999 and 2001, she made it into the second round in 2009, where she lost to league rivals MTV Herzhorn .

The male youth teams took part in the games for the German championship in 2006/07, 2007/08 (B youth) and 2008/09 (A youth) and were eliminated in the quarter-finals.

From the 2013/14 season, the parent clubs together with the Rendsburger TSV will form the HSG Schülp / Westerrönfeld / Rendsburg .
