HVS4 , catalog name SDSS J091301.0 + 305120 or USNO-A2.0 1200-06254578 , one is hyper-fast running (Engl. Hyper velocity star , shortly HVS ) in the constellation Cancer .

HVS4 is believed to have been ejected about 130 million years ago by an encounter with the black hole in the center of our galaxy. It is now moving away from the galactic center at a speed of almost 600 km / s and is therefore no longer gravitationally bound to the Milky Way .
The HVS4 is probably a B8 star. Based on this, its distance is estimated to be about 61 k pc (about 200,000 light years).

HVS4 was developed by Brown et al. discovered and was the fourth known hyper-speed runner. A total of 16 such stars have been discovered since 2005 (until July 2010). Astronomers hope that the observation of such high-speed stars will also provide clues about the distribution of dark matter in the Milky Way, as it is to be expected that this influences the orbit of the stars.
