The Habermehlgipfel ( Norwegian Habermehltoppen , English Habermehl Peak ) is a 2945 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises 5 km south of the Geßnerspitze in the northeast part of the Mühlig-Hofmann Mountains .
It was discovered and named during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . It is named after the meteorologist Richard Habermehl (1890–1980), then head of the Reich Weather Service . A new mapping was carried out using aerial photographs taken during the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
