The Hadeborn is a brook in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz , which has its source near Ritterode and, coming from the west, flows through Hettstedt and flows into the Wipper near the Hettstedter Saiger Gate . The stream is channeled underground in two places. With the construction of the Hettstedt landfill (closed and renatured today), a tunnel was necessary to prevent the stream from coming into contact with residual waste. A second canalization can be found in the old town area. Here the brook runs under Hadebornstrasse.

Flood

On April 13, 1994, due to heavy rainfall and the associated overloading of the canal system in the old town area, the stream could no longer hold the water and continued on its way above ground. This resulted in considerable material damage.
