Ritterode is a district of the city of Hettstedt in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt . Until it was incorporated on September 1, 2010, the community belonged to the Hettstedt administrative community, which was dissolved on the same day .

In 992 the place was first mentioned as Rothirarode .

In addition to Wilrode, Endorf, Nieder- Welbsleben , Quenstedt and the desert areas of Baderode and Iwerode , Ritterode (called Rouderode ) was sold from the Arnstein lordship on July 13, 1387 by the Counts of Regenstein to the Counts of Mansfeld .

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Meisberg was incorporated.
