Haeundae-gu ( Korean 해운대구 ) is one of the 16 districts of Busan . It is a southeastern and fourth-largest district of the city in terms of area. The district borders the Geumjeong-gu , Gijang-gun , Yeonje-gu , Suyeong-gu, and Dongnae-gu neighborhoods in a clockwise direction .

Haeundae-gu is home to Haeundae Beach, one of the most famous beaches in South Korea. 30% of all Busan hotels are in the district. With the Busan International Film Festival one of the most popular film festivals in the world takes place in Haeundae-gu.

Administrative units of the Haeundae-gu

The district consists of seven dong (sub-districts), all of which are divided into two to four individual administrative units except for the Songjeong-dong. The district thus has a total of 18 dong.

Hong Soon-heon (홍순헌) is the district mayor. He belongs to the Deobureo-minju party .

The film Tsunami (2009) takes place in the district.
