The Hanau port railway is a railway infrastructure that connects the Hanau Main Harbor in the city of the same name to the Hanau railway junction and the Deutsche Bahn AG network.

The Hanau port railway has 11 km of track with 37 points . The facilities have been renovated and expanded in recent years. From this infrastructure six branches sidings from which have 1.2 km length again.

Around 33,000 freight wagons are handled on the port railway every year.

Mainly block trains with potash , cement and mineral oil arrive here , mostly from the refinery in Leuna . In full shift operation, two or three such trains are unloaded 365 days a year. 16 unloading connections for tank wagons are available for this purpose. It takes three to three and a half hours to unload.
