Hagalaz 'Runedance is a Neofolk project that was founded by Andrea Haugen in 1996 to research her artistic expression at the time. The main themes were Germanic mythology and magic. The project was completed in 2002.
From a musical point of view, the pieces are most likely to be assigned to the Neofolk . Mainly acoustic instruments are used, electronic sounds are occasionally used. The band name is derived from the rune Hagalaz , which means " hail ". The albums were released on the metal label Hammerheart Records / Karmageddon Media , Haugen was also partially supported by artists from the metal environment such as the band Ulver and her former husband Samoth . Haugen wrote music and lyrics alone, however.
Other projects in which Andrea “Nebel” Haugen was musically active were Aghast (together with Tania “Nacht” Stene), Cradle of Filth , Satyricon and her versatile solo project Nebelhexë.
