The residential building at Hagelkreuzstrasse 17 is in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

The building was built around the turn of the century. It was entered under No. H 092 on December 6, 1994 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

Hagelkreuzstraße lies between the New Water Tower and the Colorful Garden .

architecture

It is a three-story corner building with a plastered facade and an extended attic . It is divided horizontally by a circumferential floor, sill and blown eaves cornice . Emphasis on the sloping front side by two-storey bay windows and gable design . Formal design of both street fronts is the same, but varies in detail. Almost axially symmetrical structure of the wider side front to Benediktinerstraße.

In addition to the central axis of the access, three window axes on both sides; the left axis field is wider, the others in regular order. The narrower side facing Hagelkreuzstraße is divided into three equal axes, with the formation and design of the windows corresponding to those of the other front side. All windows are designed as uniform vertical rectangles, but framed with frames that vary from floor to floor. On the ground floor only keystone framing, on the first floor gable roofing and on the second floor more simple entablature roofing. The stairwell windows on the entrance axis are additionally accentuated by a more elaborate crowning . The stylistic devices cited are primarily borrowed from the Renaissance or the German Renaissance.
