The residential building Hagelkreuzstrasse 3a is in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

The building was built in 1904/1908. It was entered under No. H 099 on January 6, 1998 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

Hagelkreuzstraße lies between the New Water Tower and the Colorful Garden .

architecture

It is a two-storey plastered building with four axes and a steeply sloping gable roof . Central axial accentuation by a pointed triangular gable . Weakly pronounced horizontal structure by means of plinth cornices, sill cornices and window canopies on the ground floor, as well as two roof cornice sections over a round arch frieze.

The house is accessed on the right through a deeply cut entrance niche. The windows are formulated as uniform vertical rectangles in a design that varies from floor to floor. The three windows and the entrance niche on the ground floor are framed by a simple stucco setting with a beam roof. Of the windows uniformly arranged in a row of the upper floor, the two middle ones are stressed by a connecting Sohlbankgesims and a keel arcuate, to the tympanum reaching Bekrönungsprofil on a vegetable-formed ornamentation .

The parapet areas are adorned with Gothic tracery decor . The gable field, which is lavishly filled with floral ornamentation, opens a tall rectangular window in the middle , which is framed by a fial-like frame. The roof breaks through a gable flanking each shed dormer .
