Church of Saint Blasius in Hagen

location

It is located a few hundred meters east of the city limits of Markt Murnau am Staffelsee and north of Loisach and the Autobahn 95 , embedded in the moss and moraine landscape with a view of the Herzogstand and Heimgarten mountains .

history

Based on archaeological finds that go back to the early Bronze Age , a long history of settlement can be assumed. Hagen is mentioned for the first time in writing in a tradition according to which there has been a castle in Hagen since 1177, but no more building certificates exist. The name of the place may have been derived from the von Hagen family of knights, who lived here and which died out in 1525, and of which a tombstone in the church in Hagen still testifies today.

Attractions
