Hagen Kearney (born November 6, 1991 in Bradford ) is an American snowboarder . He starts in the snowboard cross discipline.

Career

Kearney made his debut in the Snowboard World Cup in November 2011 in Telluride and finished in 46th place. In March 2012 in Chiesa in Valmalenco he achieved his first top ten placement in the World Cup with fifth place. At the Snowboard World Championships 2013 in Stoneham , he achieved 20th place. At the Winter X Games 2014 in Aspen he came ninth and the following year 19th place. In the 2015/16 season he made it into the top ten twice in seven World Cup starts and thus achieved 17th place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup. In January 2016 he finished 11th at the Winter X Games 2016 . At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, he won his first World Cup victory in Montafon . In the further course of the season he reached four top ten placings and at the end of the season he was fifth in the Snowboard Cross World Cup. At the highlight of the season, the 2017 Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada , he finished ninth and won the gold medal in the team competition with Nick Baumgartner . The following year he won 13th place at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang .

Kearney has participated in 48 World Cups so far and was in the top ten 17 times. In the Nor-Am Cup, he has won five so far and was third in the 2011/12 season and seventh in the 2012/13 season in the snowboard cross ranking. (As of January 1, 2020)
