Building description

The former Haidermühle is a stately, two-storey flat - gable roof building with a knee - high and arched doorway. The current building was built in the 18th or 19th century.

history

An agricultural property has been located on the site of the Haiderhof for around 500 years. Agriculture was also practiced here until the 1950s, after which the owner family ran the farm as an excursion restaurant. After the farm had been leased for many years and this contract expired in 2014, the family invested in the infrastructure in order to continue running the restaurant and accommodation business themselves. After a few problems with the permits for restaurants and accommodation and a temporary closure by the responsible district office, the Haiderhof is now again offering snacks and overnight stays.

location

The Haiderhof is located in the Oberjettenberg district of Schneizlreuther , directly at the entrance to the Aschauer Klamm , 300 meters above (southeast) the confluence of the Aschauer Bach in the Saalach. The Aschauer Bach forms the border to the Austrian municipality of Unken . The farm can only be reached by vehicles via a single-lane gravel road, hikers and cyclists can use several paths to get to the Haiderhof.
