Haki Toska

Haki Toska (born May 8, 1920 in Gjirokastra , † 1994 ) was an Albanian politician of the Party of Labor of Albania (PPSh).

biography

Toska took part in the communist anti-fascist war of independence during the Second World War from 1942 to 1944 and was most recently political commissar of the 6th Brigade .

In 1954 he became a member of the People's Assembly ( Kuvendi Popullor ) for the first time and, as a representative of Gjirokastra County , he belonged to it from the third to the end of the eleventh electoral term in 1991. In addition, he was a member of the Central Committee (ZK) of the PPSh.

At the 3rd party congress of the PPSh in June 1956 he was elected candidate for the Politburo and at the same time secretary of the PPSh Central Committee. At the 4th party congress in February 1961 he was elected a member of the Politburo, to which he belonged until 1981.

In November 1966 he first gave up his office as Central Committee Secretary, since on March 18, 1966, he was also Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers in the government of Prime Minister Mehmet Shehu . As such, he was head of the Albanian government delegation at the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China . Other members of the delegation were Xhafer Spahiu , Central Committee Secretary and member of the Presidium of the People's Assembly, as well as Xhorxhi Robo, candidate of the Central Committee of the PPSh and ambassador to the People's Republic of China, Petro Olldashi, candidate of the Central Committee of the PPSh, Party Secretary in the Berat and Held der socialist work , Xhemal Shehu, officer of the People's Army and Lumturi Duro, head of the agricultural cooperative "Enver Hoxha" in Zharëz in the Fier district .

He held the office of Vice Prime Minister until November 23, 1970. He dealt mainly with questions of agriculture . Toska was then again from November 1970 to November 1976 Secretary of the Central Committee. He swapped his previous office with Xhafer Spahiu, who later dealt with the topic of industry .

He then became a member of Mehmet Shehu's cabinet on November 13, 1976 as the successor to Lefter Goga , where he held the post of finance minister until January 14, 1982 . He was succeeded as finance minister by Qirjako Mihali .
