Lefter Goga

Lefter Goga (born May 6, 1921 in Durrës , † May 6,  1997 in Tirana ) was an Albanian politician of the Party of Labor of Albania .

Life

Goga, who had studied law in Bologna  , was briefly Minister for Materials Management, but lost this office on April 11, 1952 because of "loss of confidence in him and incompetence" and should take on other tasks.

In 1954 he was elected for the first time as a member of the People's Assembly ( Kuvendi Popullor ) and was a member of this as a representative for the Durrës district from the third to the end of the ninth electoral term in 1982. He later also became Vice President of the People's Assembly and thus Deputy Speaker of Parliament . In addition, he held various functions in the legal committee of the people's assembly.

At the 4th party congress of the PPSh in February 1961 he became a candidate for the Central Committee (ZK) of the PPSh.

From December 1963 to July 11, 1966, Goga was finally President of the People's Assembly .

At the 5th party congress in November 1966 he was elected a member of the Central Committee of the PPSh. At the same time he became first secretary of the PPSh in the Kruja district as well as attorney general and held this office until November 1970. Then he handed over this function to Dhori Panariti in order to take on "other important functions".

On October 30, 1974, he was appointed Minister of Finance in the government of Prime Minister Mehmet Shehu . He held this position until he was replaced by Haki Toska on November 13, 1976. During this time he represented Albania in the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of North Vietnam in August 1975 .

In the following years until 1982 he was chairman of the Executive Committee of Shkodra  and Kukës counties . He died in Tirana in 1997.
