Halach Uinik
Halach Wíinik , Jalach Wíinik or (not tonal , e.g. Itzá ) Halach Winik , in traditional Spanish-based spelling Halach Huinik or Halach Uinik ( Mayathan halach "of high rank", wíinik "human being, man", in Itzá - not tonal - Winik ; German : "man of high rank, chief") was the title of the highest prince of the Maya in the post classic in Yucatan . The title became patrilineal inherited.
Even in the classical period , the respective territorial ruler was called ajaw .
