The Halemer lake is 0.80 square kilometers (= 80 hectares ) large moorland lake northwest of the town Flögeln , close to the mud spa bath Bederkesa in the north of Lower Saxony .
The Halemer See is one of the four moor lakes of the so-called "Four-Seen-Platte" with the Bederkesaer , the Flögelner , the Halemer and the Dahlemer See . The lake lies entirely in the Ahlenmoor nature reserve . At the western end it is directly connected to the Dahlemer See. There is a natural lake runoff to the Flögelner See.
A four-meter-high observation tower on the north bank offers a view of the lake, its flora and fauna and a forest area spreading south of the lake on the Geest . Numerous species of birds nest at the lake. Whooper swans are often seen in winter .
The lake is leased and therefore no fishing area.
