The Dahlemer See is located in northern Lower Saxony in the district of Cuxhaven . It is a fen lake with a size of about 110 hectares .
The Dahlemer See is connected to the Halemer and Flögelner See and is also under nature protection . The very flat north-west bank tends to silt up . On the east side of the lake, on the other hand, a sometimes bizarre steep bank forms in the high moor due to the waves. The lake "moves" incessantly in an easterly direction. Several hectares of land have been lost over the course of 200 years.
There is a viewing platform on it and an approximately ten-meter-high observation tower. The animal and plant world can be observed from here.
Flora and fauna
In the moor lake , which is around two meters deep, there are various types of fish such as roach , rudd , bream , perch , carp , pike and pikeperch . A wide variety of water birds and animals live in the extensive reed edges ; the kingfisher can also be seen here and there.
