Half Japanese is an American noise rock band from Austin , Texas .

The band was formed in Uniontown in 1975 by the brothers Jad and David Fair. Moe Tucker of Velvet Underground produced Fire In the Sky (1993). The group also worked with Don Fleming , Fred Frith , John Zorn , Yo La Tengo , Sonic Youth, and Daniel Johnston . Half Japanese went on tour with Nirvana in 1993 .
