Halfdan Rasmussen
Halfdan Rasmussen (born January 29, 1915 in Copenhagen ; † March 2, 2002 ) was a Danish poet and resistance fighter .
Life
Rasmussen was a resistance fighter against the German occupation during World War II . In 1958 he was awarded the Danish literature prize De Gyldne Laurbær for his collection of poems "Torso", which were created while traveling through Greece. He became famous for his poems during the German occupation until 1945. His anti-militarist poems are strongly caricatured and naively expressive. The grotesquely funny manner defused the disaster. The poems were illegally distributed in print. Later, his language games had a broad impact through short rhymes in so-called nonsense children's book literature.
