Halil İbrahim Sönmez (born October 1, 1990 in Yomra ) is a Turkish football player .

Career

Sönmez started playing club football in the youth of Trabzonspor . After working here for two years, he subsequently played in the youth departments of the local amateur clubs.

In the summer of 2011, he started his professional career by moving to the fourth division Orhangazispor . Here he stayed only half a season and then moved to league rivals Gebzespor . At this club he gradually established himself as a regular player.

For the 2013/14 season he went to the fourth division Ünyespor and from here half a season later to Elibol Sandıklıspor . In the latter, he scored seven goals in 16 league games by the end of the season and attracted attention. In the summer of 2014, he was signed by the first division team Torku Konyaspor . After the pre-season preparatory camp, this club loaned him to his partner club, the third division Anadolu Selçukspor . In this league, Sönmez scored 16 goals in 31 games by the end of the season and was one of the most successful goal scorers in the league. This performance ensured that he was kept in the Konyaspor squad for the following season.

For the 2017/18 season he was loaned to the second division club Çaykur Rizespor .
