The Hallerbach is an orographically right tributary of the Holtebach in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany . It has a length of 3.0 km.

River course

The Hallerbach rises in the Senne within the Hövelhofer forest through the confluence of numerous ditches, some of which are drains from the Moosheide nature reserve . The body of water follows the south-westerly flattening of the surroundings, leads north past Hövelhof and then crosses the local industrial area. Finally, the Hallerbach flows into the almost parallel Holtebach on the right in re-wooded terrain .

Differences in classification

Contrary to the official classification, some sources consider the Hallerbach, which in contrast to the Holtebach ("Lower Hallerbach") is also known as the "Upper Hallerbach", as the estuary of the Holtebach and also the Schwarzwasserbach . Under this assumption, which is also represented on the information board at the origin of the Schwarzwasserbach created by a bifurcation, the Hallerbach would be the first named tributary of the Ems . The official geospatial material does not support this system.
