The Hamarøya ( Norwegian for Hammer island is) a 1975 m high, isolated and unvereister mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the Mühlig-Hofmann Mountains it rises in the middle of the mouth of the Vestre Skorvebreen .
Norwegian cartographers named the mountain and mapped it on the basis of aerial photographs and measurements of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956-1960).
