Hamirpur ( Hindi हमीरपुर Hamīrapur ) is a town in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .
Hamirpur is located in the south of Uttar Pradesh about 60 kilometers south of Kanpur . The city center is bounded by the rivers Betwa in the south and Yamuna in the north, which merge a few kilometers to the east. At the time of the 2011 census, Hamirpur had 35,475 residents. The city is divided into 25 wards and is the administrative seat of the district of the same name .
The city is located on the national highway NH 86 from Kanpur to Bhopal .
